Elevations

How is everyone doing their elevations? a 3D model or autocad drawing?

    I wasn't sure whether to do elevations? I know standardly they would be included, but looking through the brief I can't see the requirement for them? If I do them though I'll probs render a 3D image and set it back behind a line drawing
